This Privacy Policy describes how Boat Payment Calculator ("we," "us" or "our") handles information in connection with boatloanpaymentcalculator.com (the "Site"). By using the Site, you acknowledge the practices described here.
Information we collect
Calculator inputs
The calculators on the Site run in your web browser. The values you enter, such as boat price, down payment, rate and term, are processed on your device and are not stored by us or sent to our servers.
Information you submit through the contact form
If you use the contact form, we collect the information you provide: your first and last name, email address, phone number (if you choose to provide it), the topic you select and the content of your message. Please do not include sensitive information such as Social Security numbers or financial account numbers.
Server logs
Like most websites, our hosting infrastructure automatically records standard technical information when you visit, such as your IP address, browser type, device type, the pages requested, the referring page and the date and time of the request.
Cookies and analytics
The Site does not currently use advertising cookies, tracking pixels or third-party analytics. If we add analytics in the future, we will update this policy before doing so and, where required by law, ask for your consent before using non-essential cookies.
Fonts loaded from Google
The Site loads its typeface from Google Fonts. When a page loads, your browser connects to Google servers, which receive your IP address and standard browser information. Google’s privacy policy applies to that information.
How we use information
- To respond to messages you send us.
- To operate, maintain, secure and improve the Site.
- To understand how the Site is used, in aggregate.
- To detect and prevent abuse, fraud or security incidents.
- To comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms of Use.
How we share information
We do not sell your personal information. We may share information:
- With service providers that help us host the Site, deliver email or analyze Site usage, subject to obligations to protect the information and use it only to provide services to us.
- For legal reasons, when we believe disclosure is required by law or necessary to protect our rights, users or others.
- In a business transfer, such as a merger, acquisition or sale of assets, subject to this policy.
Vantage Recreational Finance
When you select Start Application, you leave the Site and continue to the financing application on the Vantage Recreational Finance website. The link includes a referral identifier so Vantage can recognize that you came from the Site, and we may receive compensation from Vantage for referrals. Your calculator inputs are not passed to Vantage. Any information you provide in the application is collected by Vantage and governed by Vantage's own privacy policy and terms, not this policy.
Do Not Track and online tracking
Some browsers can send a “Do Not Track” (DNT) signal. Because the Site does not track visitors across other websites over time, it does not change its behavior in response to DNT signals. Other than the font service described above and our hosting provider, we do not allow third parties to collect information about your online activities on the Site over time or across websites.
Data retention
We keep contact form messages for as long as needed to respond and for a reasonable period afterward for record-keeping, unless a longer period is required by law. Server logs are kept for a limited period for security and operational purposes. Because calculator inputs are not sent to us, we do not retain them.
Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical and physical measures to protect information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Your choices
- You can use the calculators without providing any personal information.
- You can choose not to use the contact form.
- You can set your browser to block or delete cookies; some features may not work as intended.
- You can ask us to access, correct or delete information you have submitted through the contact form by writing to us through the contact page.
Children's privacy
The Site is intended for adults and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can delete it.
U.S. state privacy rights
Residents of certain U.S. states may have rights under state privacy laws, which can include the right to know what personal information is collected, to access or correct it, to request deletion, and to opt out of the sale of personal information or its use for targeted advertising. We do not sell personal information. To make a request, contact us through the contact page. We may need to verify your request, and we will not discriminate against you for exercising your rights.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will change the effective date at the top of this page, and material changes will also be noted on the Site. You can review the current version on this page at any time.
