Disclosure: Vantage Recreational Finance is an independent, third-party lender. Boat Payment Calculator is not a lender, does not make credit decisions and may receive compensation from Vantage for referrals. All rates, terms and loan amounts are set by Vantage and are subject to credit approval.

What Vantage Recreational Finance is

According to its website, vantagerecreationalfinance.com, Vantage Recreational Finance, Inc. provides financing for the marine and RV industries throughout the US. It lists financing for:

  • Boats
  • RVs
  • Outboard engines
  • Trailers
  • Fish houses

Vantage states that its programs include extended terms up to 240 months and that it has programs for individuals with a range of credit levels. Whether a given term or program is available to you depends on the loan, the boat and Vantage's review of your application. Vantage also lists memberships in the National Marine Lenders Association and the Marine Retailers Association of the Americas.

How the online application works

The application is a secure (SSL) web form on Vantage's own site. When you choose Start Application on this site, you leave Boat Payment Calculator and continue on vantagerecreationalfinance.com. Nothing you entered in our calculators is passed to Vantage.

  1. Referral: the form asks how you heard about Vantage. If you are buying from a dealer, it asks for the dealer's name.
  2. Applicant details: name, phone, email, address and time at that address, housing status, date of birth, Social Security number and an approximate current credit score. A previous address is requested if you have lived at the current one for less than two years.
  3. Employment and income: employer, occupation, time in the job and gross monthly salary, plus optional other income. The form notes that alimony, child support or separate maintenance income need not be revealed if you do not want it considered.
  4. Credit history questions: whether you have ever filed for bankruptcy (and the year) and whether you have had a repossession.
  5. Co-applicant (optional): you can add a co-applicant with their own details and employment.
  6. Purchase information: whether the boat, motor and trailer are new or used, with year, make and model.
  7. Authorization: you confirm the information is accurate and authorize Vantage to check your credit and employment history, accept its privacy notice and consent to electronic disclosures. Vantage may contact you by the phone number and email you provide.

After you submit, any credit decision, rate, term and closing process is handled by Vantage under its own terms and privacy policy.

Before you apply

It helps to know your numbers first. Use the Boat Loan Calculator to estimate a payment, the Affordability Calculator to set a budget and the Loan Term Calculator to see how a longer term changes total interest. Have the boat's year, make and model, and your employment and income details, at hand. For what lenders typically review, read boat loan requirements.

Contacting Vantage

For questions about an application, rates or approval, Vantage's contact page lists 888-577-2280 for enrollments, applications and general questions; its application refers to info@vrfloans.com.
